Brisk Month

Not only has the weather turned colder, but the month has started to go very quickly. The first weekend we had family photos taken. It wasn't a crazy experience and we did end up with a nice photo - I'll try to scan it in later in the week. The dramatic part was that when we got home, Greg noticed out loud (what I'd noticed but didn't say anything about) that I was out of focus. James and Greg were not, but I was. Okay, I'm over 30, but I do NOT need soft lighting just yet. So, I called and they said they'd reprint them if I chose a new shot. So I hustled over to the place (Portrait Innovations, they are great) and I chose a new photo. I also hit Kohl's and got some frames for the photos I'd chosen, as well as a new pair of jeans for me. I'm a big spender, watch out!
Last weekend we went to Virginia Tech for the FSU game. Friends from Atlanta joined us, taking the place of other friends who were waiting for baby # 2. It was a fun weekend, although very cold. Here's a photo of James at the tailgate. He was so bundled up he was like the kid in "A Christmas Story". :)
Finally, this weekend - today we celebrated my mom's birthday (9 days late) with dinner here with my folks, brother/wife/nephew. It was fun. Tomorrow we were supposed to go to dinner to give a joint wedding gift (a surprise) to friends but they've canceled. We hope to somehow give them the gift at some point. Otherwise, it's leaf raking for us!
Wednesday we are off to CT for Thanksgiving, it will be a full weekend of time with Greg's family. I love New England in the fall so I always look forward to trips up there. I hope all my random physical ailments are cured by then (random finger rash from painting, horrible cold sore, finger cut that continues to bleed when nicked accidentally). Wow, what a chipper way to end this post.
Oh, also, I took photos of James for our Christmas card. Isn't he cute? :)
