Cold Weather, Busy Days

After my 5k on Saturday, we enjoyed dinner with friends who we don't get to see too often (this just reminds me I need to email her!), which was really fun. They also have a 2 year old and a baby, so it was hectic. :)

On Sunday we enjoyed a really fun family bbq at ET's house with my Wednesday playgroup. All kids and husbands attended (except Melissa's husband who was at the Skins game) - it was really fun for everyone. It got VERY cold over the weekend (I guess regular seasonally cold but it had been warm so who knows) so most of the bbq was spent inside (except for the chef and some of the kids, whose hands were like icicles when they came inside!).

Monday was busy busy in the morning. I took James to school and hung around for his class to attend the school's fall festival. So cute. James had a great time. Nate hung out in the Bjorn under my fleece. It looked like I had a baby head sprouting out of my jacket. :) From there Nate and I left James for the rest of his school day and we went to the peditrician. We were concerned about Nate's congestion so wanted to have him checked out. He was all fine, no fluid build up, so he's just got another cold. Erg but good news overall. From there we came home for all of 20 minutes and then went to get my flu shot. It took FOREVER. So annoying. The receptionist apologized a million times. I didn't care but of course Nate was sleeping peacefully UNTIL I had to get my shot. Freaking annoying. Then we sped back to get James.

My dad came over for dinner last night as my mom is in Ohio visiting my grandma, so that was exciting for James. :) Today we had playgroup at Melissa's house which was very fun. The boys had a ball playing outside with sticks, balls, leaves, the swing set and the dogs. Plus Melissa made VERY GOOD monkey bread so I literally didn't eat lunch until 2:30 as I ate so much of it. True story.

James is up from an early nap which will mean an early bedtime. Friend Kate with Jack and Jane is coming over in a bit to play and then I'll try to get a jog in there. We're headed to Connecticut this weekend to visit Greg's family and I hope to run the 5k up there as well. We'll see if my time will be better or worse....

So I might not post again until next week. I haven't tried to upload photos here recently but seriously, if you can, get a Facebook account. I have photos there. :)
