My friend Kelly (Hi K!) has a little boy, Luke, who turned 1 on July 23. So our little ones, who haven't met yet, are just one day apart. Her blog today reminded me that I haven't posted photos of Nate's 1st birthday yet....oops. I haven't actually downloaded the photos since we went to Ohio this past weekend, but, I do have some photos of the boys from their photo shoot (ha ha, please, that makes it sound like it was with a pro in a field somewhere) that I'll post here. I got talked into buying enough photos to warrant a free cd of pictures. Yeah, okay, it wasn't that hard to talk me into it. In any case, Nate is now 1 and no longer a baby officially. But he is still my baby and very much a momma's boy. Here are his 1 year stats:
Height: 32 inches (95%)
Weight: 22 pounds, 2 ounces (25-50%)
Head: 18.75 inches (80-90%)
Overall: Perfect. :) No issues or concerns.
In other good news, Nate is now pretty much sleeping through the night. Correspondingly, he has taken to whole milk very well and now, at bedtime, no longer nurses. About a week ago he just started rejecting me. And so now I don't offer, and he doesn't seem to care. I no longer nurse at night either. So today, I've just nursed this morning (we were out and about and so his naps were in the car). I'm a little sad about this but am hoping this means that weaning Nate will be a less stressful process than weaning James. Nate is obviously more distracted and just more into food and milk. But I am sad. However, again, correspondingly, I am enjoying more sleep.
In other lovely, unexpected news, Nate's eyes are changing color! They've been a deep blue his whole life until a week or so ago, when I noticed they were looking darker. Well, they definitely are - they are blue/green/brown. I'm shocked that they would change at a year but am also so pleased -- he's looking more and more like me, which I love. :)
Photos posted in the next post. Thanks for the reminder Kelly and I'm SO sorry about your photos from the birthday. :( Congrats to you on Luke's 1st birthday!!!
