Crazy past week -- so busy with making Herban Lifestyles products, writing press releases, organizing lunches for preschool staff, writing summaries for friend's cds (woo hoo D!), learning music for big gig, subbing/learning Music Play, and running. Oh, and taking care of family, house, and home. Gah! I've definitely taken on more than I can chew and will be very grateful for the arrival of November. Just have to get through this weekend away, then my gig, then the marathon, then Halloween. Then it's just three short weeks until Chicago!!!!!!!! My first girls weekend in YEARS. Woo hoo!!!
Running update: last week was my last 1 hour tempo run. My goal was to run 7 miles in that hour. And I DID IT! I ran 7 miles in 57:48, for an average of 8:15/mile. I am really proud of myself! And my new shoes feel GREAT. This past Sunday I did my longest run pre-marathon: 22 miles. I was in a pissy mood on Saturday night (nerves, anxiety, and a very busy Saturday which didn't help me out for resting for Sunday), and didn't sleep well. Good practice for the marathon, as I know I won't sleep well. But, I got up at 6, was out the door at 6:30, and ran for 3 hours, 38 minutes, and 42 seconds. So just barely under a 10 minute mile average. So proud of myself. And, I felt very strong! My guys set up a support table (literally, our card table) in our driveway with Gatorade and gels, etc. I swung by a few times and was eating and fueling and hydrating early....totally see how it benefitted me. Because my last 2 miles were 9:15 miles!! I never thought I'd feel that good. Physically I felt good the whole time, just at the end my feet were sort of pained (not achy/hurting, just tired). So wow, I am almost there.
I'm now in taper mood. Good thing because it's getting darker during the day (although I borrowed a double jogger and can now run my easy runs with the boys when I want to during the day, yea) and again, I have all the above I still have to do.
But I feel good! And strong! And happy!
I have to go, as Nate is up from his nap. I'm grateful I just was able to lie on the couch for the last hour while he napped and James was at school. I needed the break. Now it's off to the store!!!
Cheers. :)
