Our weekend was nice. Mollie and Steve came over for lunch and then I babysat on Saturday night for a friend. On Sunday we spontaneously went to Paula and Howard's for dinner, which was great. The kids played SO nicely together and even took a bath together, which was hilarious and made for some great future blackmail photos. :)
This week has gone well. Monday we had music class and then a playdate. I had rehearsal preceded by dinner at McDonalds. MISTAKE. The next morning was my 24 week check up and I had gained a LOT of weight. Ugh. I was also super swollen. Probably the Big Mac and fries didn't help that. So I'm trying to be better. But all I want for lunch is a Subway sandwich, darnit! Anyway, I also had my gestational diabetes test. No word as of today (Thursday) so I hope I passed. My mom babysat for James and as usual they had a great time. That afternoon was a playgroup here - Melissa and Owen came over and we played outside since it was SO nice. The boys took turns with the swing, car, and lawnmower very nicely. We were both happy to see that.
Yesterday we went to a MOMS Club coffee for a while and then Barbara came over for lunch. She treated (!!) to Five Guys. Yes, I know, salty food. But I feel like the beef is a good protein source for me. :) It was delicious. At least I didn't get a coke. I'm also going to try to cut back on cokes -- really, the sugar is silly. Delicious, but silly. I'm fatty enough as it is! Then yesterday afternoon we went to Ali's for a playdate, which was nice. Stayed until 6 p.m. but James was really having fun.
Today is sort of a downer. We were supposed to go into Arlington for lunch and playtime with all the boys. James woke up just fine but around 9 a.m. started getting fussy and whiny. I felt his head and neck and they felt a little warm. So I decided to give him some Tylenol. And take his temperature. He was SO not happy about the temperature taking. Lo and behold, it was 100.2. I know that's not super high but it was enough for me to go with the Tylenol and cancel our plans. I'm bummed because it's so fun to see the girls and of course James likes playing with (antagonizing) the big boys. I just know that if he has a little virus or something it's best to stay home. So we've been coming up with silly games to pass the time - looking out the window at trucks, playing with coins and the Thomas train, throwing scarves around a la music class, and now, yes, watching "Barney". Mommy needs a break. :)
We're supposed to head out tomorrow morning with my mom to visit my grandma in Ohio. Hopefully this little fever will be gone today so we can continue with our plans. It will be a low key visit but a nice one.
Of course I have no new photos to upload, because, yes, I'm lazy. But aren't my words descriptive enough?
