Reunion

Still no baby (it's Sunday at 5:45 p.m., the boys are out back playing - way too hot for me though), although I'm hopeful. I gave birth to James two days after Angelina Jolie gave birth to Shiloh two years ago, so, now that she's had her twins, we're hoping that tomorrow is the arrival date of our baby. :) I can't believe she beat me to birth AGAIN. I seriously need to pay my people more. Anyway, the other thought is that there's a full moon this Friday the 18th. Maybe he'll come then, I think that's a big hormonal/tidal pull on things. Who knows. Let's just hope I'm not this big for another two weeks, which is a possibility. And then, induction, which I am hoping to avoid.

So besides me, we had a good weekend. Yesterday we went to the Reston Festival to walk around and just get out of the house. Greg and James rode on this cute little train up and down the main drag. I walked around in an attempt to get things going with the baby. No dice. Anyway, we ran into friends Lauren and Patrick and their boys as well as Kari and her her husband David and their boys. We also visited the Music Play tent - great traffic so we're hoping that means good business this fall.

My parents came over around 4 to take over James duty, as Greg and I were off for my 15 year high school reunion -- more of a cocktail party than a big to do. It sounds like James did very well - Grandma and Grandpa certainly keep him busy. They watched "Cars", played outside, went for a little walk, played inside, took a bath, had a HUGE dinner, and then bed. James slept until 8:30 a.m. today (heaven!) so we all slept late, which was great. He was in an awesome mood when he woke up too and told us what he had for dinner last night. It is so cute to hear him say "noodles, peas, meatballs, corn, milk". :) He now says "thank you" regularly and at the appropriate times! It's so awesome.

So he had a good evening as did we. We got to Arlington a few minutes after 5 and immediately saw old friends and acquaintances from high school. Paula and Howard arrived soon after us so we had our "comfort zone" of close friends. :) We hung out at the reunion, which turned out to be really fun and low stress, until about 8, then we walked over to Ireland's Four Courts for dinner. Good walking for me, I had to make everyone slow down though. Dinner was nice and relaxed without kids, it was a fun double date.

We got home around 10:15 to relieve my parents. They had to drive home in two cars as my dad came from the golf course. Hopefully they had a quiet day today. Our day has been good/lazy: Greg mowed, James and I played outside, we all played inside, hung out, took naps, and I'm now cooking eggplant for a pasta salad - also, doesn't eggplant bring on labor? Anything would help.

Greg is probably not going to his grandma's funeral. It is Tuesday morning. The ONLY scenario would be for Greg to leave Monday after work and return immediately after the funeral. Still, he'd be gone for 24 hours. And if he's there and I go into labor, it's a 6 hour drive back. I hate that we just don't know when it will happen, as I'd be fine with him going and would like him to.
