"Now brush the back."

Last night James was in the bathtub and I realized he needed to brush his teeth. So I handed him his toothbrush right then and there, with toothpaste. After he scrubbed the front teeth I said, "Now brush the back." My little smart man took the toothbrush and literally began scrubbing his BACK and his BOTTOM. Oh, dear. I laughed until I cried. It was awesomely funny. So today when my parents were here and he asked to brush his teeth I told them the story and yes, he proceeded to try and brush his bum. Sigh.

Greg ended up going to his grandma's funeral today - he left our house at 4 a.m. and got to Ohio at 10 a.m. Bless him for being such a good guy. It was very important to him and I supported his decision. Also, at 4 a.m. I felt fine, so I said to go ahead. I had put my parents on high alert (we were saying "red" status) so they were prepared. Luckily, he got there and his family was very surprised and happy to see him. I spoke with him this afternoon and he will be home around 7 p.m.

I am 4 days from my due date. As of today, the doctor said I'm about 1 cm dilated and very effaced. We both think he'll come this weekend. Unfortunately, none of my three doctors are on call, however, she said the doctor who is is very nice and like a big teddy bear. I think that means he'll have hairy arms. Is that a weird thing to think off the top of my head? Anyway, she did say he's good about doing whatever you want, as in walking around, using the birthing ball, etc. So I'm glad about that. She said to make sure and tell him that they think the baby will be "big". Again, she's estimating 8-9 pounds. I told her again that I'm not concerned. We will discuss other labor options if I'm overdue next Tuesday, but let's all hope he decides that the full moon this Friday is the way to go. :)

Happily, my mom got James to settle down for nap today so I'm going to go rest myself. Since Greg will be on the road, my lovely friend Beth will watch James for us for a while so I can attend the MOMS Club of Herndon banquet. I'm an outgoing officer so I'd like to go, plus, a nice, relaxed restaurant meal will be hard to come by in the coming months. So I asked Beth to watch James and she agreed (yea, thank you! I know you read my blog!). We'll go over there after nap and James and Christina can play. Beth will give them both dinner and then Greg will probably pick James up around 7 when he's home. My dinner is at 6:30 so hopefully once it's done I can go to Giant and get groceries for the next week.

Speaking of groceries, that reminds me I need to deposit Greg's first paycheck - first one's a live one, but luckily I can scan it in and deposit it. I love modern technology. First, however, I'm going to go relax!!!
