Life With Two

First off, I'm totally annoyed with Blogger. I've tried multiple times to post photos and it keeps saying I can't. Gggrrr. See, Melissa, I'm TRYING! :) Anyway, I thought I'd post a bit of what I've learned so far with life with two kids....Nate is officially 6 weeks old today (I'd better take his photo). Here's what has helped me get by the past 6 weeks:
1) The swing. Nate is happy to hang out and/or nap in it. Fine by me.
2) Night time - Nate sleeps half the night with me. Again, fine. It's a temporary fix to give me some rest. I am extremely careful and Greg doesn't even sleep in the bed so there's no worries. On a side note, James woke up and joined me and Nate in bed at 4 a.m. After a few minutes of him not going to sleep, I sent him downstairs to sleep with Greg, which he did. So this morning, the only person who woke up in their appropriate bed was me. Sigh.
3) Meals from friends....thank you thank you thank you (this week to Jill and Leslie) to everyone who brought us meals. Life saving.
4) Grocery shopping: I now go by myself in the evening after James is asleep. I am in and out and done in 45 minutes and there's no stress or worry.
5) Cookies and TV. I admit it, I have to bribe James sometimes. But he's overall a good little boy so a few treats and TV-time here and there is fine.
6) Household chores. Since I am officially a "housewife" I take care of the house responsibilities (cleaning, cooking, shopping, remembering birthdays for both sides of the family, bills, and main childcare duties). I've been putting off chores until the weekends these days. Sort of sucks but I like the break and getting it all done at once. So during the week I don't even think about stuff like laundry or vacuuming and I can concentrate on the boys.
7) Mornings. I think most of my stress came from figuring out the mornings. Figuring them out with preschool next week will be a new story, but, basically, my analness shows in the a.m. because I make all the beds and get everyone dressed immediately. Nate has had to enjoy a few moments watching his mobile while I get James' bagel ready but he's okay with it. :)

Well, I was going to post a lot more but Nate just woke up from his nap in the swing!!
