Planning Ahead

Because preschools register early in this area (I assume that 7 months in advance is early or I could be mistaken?), we had to plan ahead for James' next step in the preschool world. We decided to keep him at his current school (because we love it) and applied to have him attend three mornings a week. Luckily, we got our first choice, Monday, Weds, and Thursday mornings. Yea! I'm very pleased. My hope is that on one of those mornings, Nate and I will take a class together (like James and I did before Nate was born) and that on another morning my playgroup will have a "second generation" playdate. Everyone in the original group has had a second baby (except ET, who had twins, so also a third baby!), and most of the older kids will be in school in the fall. So hopefully we'll have some optional playgroups for the fall. I would like to haved a playgroup morning for James on a non-school day and then a "free" day - a flex day, if you will. Hopefully Friday. I enjoy having a day without plans so we can see people we don't see as often.

I'm also thinking about the summer. I think we'll go on vacation in June (ooh, reminds me to look some more, hopefully this weekend) and then in July, James will go to Freetown Friends School two mornings a week for camp. I just think he will love it, lots of outdoor/water/fun play, and he loves Shelley's house/toys, etc. It will be good for him to remember a structured routine as well.

Otherwise, still thinking about things. Possibly visiting the in-laws for a week? We'll see. I assume that sometime over the summer Nate will transition to one nap, so that will help our mornings. I am thinking of getting a punch pass to the At Play Cafe as well, for those hot mornings when we need to get out. And the new JW Tumbles will be opening. I've been helping the owners get in touch with some groups out here and have been promised "perks" at the new location...keep your fingers crossed. I'd love a free membership for a year or so. :)

Ah, well, plans, plans, plans. My only personal plans for this spring are to learn my music for our upcoming Jammin Java gig (where I'll be solo on the bass part for at least 4-5 songs, gulp) and to continue training for the 1/2 marathon. Have done three Saturday long runs (6 miles each) but need to start running during the week. I hope with the early time change (this weekend) I'll be able to get some runs in during the week.

Speaking of planning, I am hoping that we can let Nate cry a bit tonight. Ugh. Ugh. And more ugh. So I should go to bed. But I so enjoy this time for myself right now...
