My baby James is now officially a little boy. Today he had his first haircut (at a store, not courtesy of my awful bang trims). We went to Cartoon Cuts in Reston and waited our turn (not a long wait). James sat on my lap and we watched a Thomas the Tank Engine video - plus, to lure James out of the house and into the car, etc., he was munching on a Samoa (I should have ordered more of them!). He did very well during the cut, especially during the buzzer portion. The scissors portion was much more nerve-wracking for him. Overall though, no tears and no screaming. He sat on my lap (definitely helped) and with the movie and the cookie, was very distracted. As a treat afterwards, we walked to the pet store, where we saw puppies, fish, and birds. We bought a new catnip toy for the cats and some cat treats. So everyone was happy. :)
I'll try to post a new haircut photo soon - James is refusing to be happy for photos today (he wants to look at the photos moreso) but hopefully I can get a good one soon.
