I've implemented a new habit when James goes down for nap. He likes it when I lie down next to his bed (he always gives me a stuffed bunny to rest my head on, thankfully), so, I comply because I figure 10 minutes of that is better than an hour of him running up and down the hall. Anyway, I digress. I have begun listing all of his family and friends by name and saying, "Night night _____". I ask him to say the phrase after me. So, today, we went through his friends we saw at this morning's playgroup and then family members (I tell him that Greg takes a nap at work because EVERYBODY who is ANYBODY takes a nap after lunch, right?) and then other friends. Well, once I exhausted my short term memory, and finally said, "Night night everybody", James decided to continue to exercise and started saying night night to all the stuffed animals on his bed. It was really sweet and so cute. And trust me, he sleeps with a LOT of stuffed animals. Today he found even more in our toy cubbies that joined him. So once we got through that, he settled down and I was able to get him to sleep.
Today I implemented the "hand on my knee for support" option for standing up to leave the room. I attempted the roll but I didn't get very far.
No updates to my labor yet. Sigh. I think we're going to get Thai for dinner and I'll get the spiciest thing they've got. Plus a walk, maybe. ANYTHING.
