Thank You Notes

I am a big proponent of thank you notes. I think that if someone has gone to the trouble of giving you a gift, making you a meal, or doing something else that touches you, saying thank you is necessary. They've gone to the effort and trouble of doing something for you, so how can taking 1 minute to write and mail a thank you note be that big of a deal? Yes, fine, the environment suffers with each piece of paper I use. I try to use recycled paper! Also, I like to write thank you notes immediately. That way they aren't hanging over your head for a long time and then eventually you just don't bother. Bad form.

I guess I'm just sharing this because it burns me up when I go to the effort to do one of the above and I hear NOTHING. I don't even know if some gifts are RECEIVED. So I think to myself....why bother? I shouldn't bother sending someone a gift who doesn't care enough to say thank you to me. It really upsets me. But then I feel guilty esp. when the recipient is a kid. Fine, they don't know. But their parents SHOULD.

Okay, just had to get that off my chest. What a boring post.
