Taking a cue from my friend Shelley (thanks S!), I have a few random things to write down that I don't want to forget:
1) Nate was GREAT at Target today -- I think it was because James was at camp. I think the vanilla milk and banana bread helped but still, he sat in the cart and was happy. He loved trying on shoes and after trying on some Toy Story shoes he saw the Spiderman sneakers and yelled "Spidey!", so, he now owns a pair of Spiderman sneakers. Size 8. Big kid. :) Thanks to my brother and SIL for the gift card for his birthday for his new shoes!
2) Speaking of shoes, my favorite pair of flip flops broke this weekend. :( ...because I was walking around...
3) Our campsite. In Harpers Ferry. I agree to camp 1 night out of every year, so this weekend it happened. Luckily it was not so hot and humid, it rained but only at night and we had our rain gear up, AND we went with two other families so all the little boys had playmates. The activities at the campground included the pool, the mini-golf, the bounce pillow, and, our first ever family trip to...
4) The race tracks. Yes, we bet on horses. The family crowd left around 9, replaced by the nighttime crowd - including one couple where the guy had his shirt, no joke, unbuttoned to his navel. But no gold chains. Strange, right? But still, the weekend was also fun because...
5) We went to visit friends on Friday night and enjoyed live music, beautiful weather, time outside, and fun play for the kids. James and K. played incredibly well together and at one point she proclaimed that they were going to get married that night. :) It was so cute. Happy Birthday shout out to my friend P who reads the blog too.
6) James is in camp this week so Nate and I have plenty of morning activities -- playdates, the afore-mentioned Target trip, his 2 year check up, a MOMS Club meeting, park dates, etc. etc. We are happy to be carpooling with friends so that Nate can have his nap start at home rather than in the car...thank you x 1 million to my friend E. for helping me out.
7) Baby-wise all is well. The camping trip, at 26 weeks pregnant (although I can't remember but I should because my friend L. who is one week behind me relies on me to remember sometimes so I think I'm letting her down), was fine. Doing all the activities was pretty tiring for me and Lauren but we did well. I am secretly wondering if we will end up at the hospital at the same time, as we also see the same OB. Could be very funny! No names yet for baby Z3, although I will start my searching through the names book this week. I will come up with a long list although I know already that I have my top 4 names. Still, we do not share names prior to babies birthdays, so, you will all (all 3 of you) be waiting in suspence.
8) We are well on our way to getting things organized for all the boys - furniture for the big boys room should come by the end of August, hoping to move Nate by then too. Keep fingers crossed that everything goes according to my grand plan!
9) Other things in the works/upcoming: photo sessions, preschool for BOTH big boys, and a quick trip to CT before that. Phew. Will be glad when we're settled for school and the baby's arrival.
10) Big early congrats to my friend M who is welcoming her son on Friday. :) Very exciting for them!!
On that note, off to play Memory with James. :)
